I had a job interview today.

As is usually the case, I could not tell if I will be selected for the job or not.
Nothing happened in the interview that led me to believe that I had blown it.

"Blown". Now there is a term.

If a car is blown, it is faster (and usually louder and drinks more gas). If an interview is blown, it is a failure. Or at lease unsuccessful.

If a car horn is blown, it is a signal to indicate either displeasure (usually one blast - sometimes long), or to get someone's attention in a more friendly way (usually two short toots), sometimes accompanied with a wave of the hand.

If a musical instrument is blown, it is for the purpose of making music - thus it is operating properly.
